Within the framework of strengthening international cooperation, the General Tax Authority participated in the Annual Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Forum (BRITACOF), and was represented by H.E. Mr. Ahmed bin Issa Al-Mohannadi, President of the General Tax Authority, held from 11 to 13 September in Tbilisi of Georgia. The conference formed a unique international presence platform, gathering more than 140 representatives from 33 different countries, as well as representatives from 10 prominent international organizations. The conference also shed light on several vital tax-related topics, where the need to improve the tax environment, promote digitization and optimize the use of information technology in the development of tax services were also discussed. Practical solutions were also reviewed to reduce the tax burden in the business environment. In addition, countries’ experiences in increasing the level of tax compliance and its positive impact on the economy were shared. The Authority’s participation in this conference reflects its commitment to enhancing transparency and international cooperation and highlights its contribution to the sustainability of domestic and international economic growth.
