President of the General Tax Authority Receives GCC Medal for Civil Service and Administrative Development
The Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council awarded H.E. Mr. Ahmed bin Issa Al Mohannadi, President of the General Tax Authority, the GCC Medal for Civil Service and Administrative Development, in recognition of his extensive career in the government sector of the State of Qatar.
The honoring of H.E. Mr. Ahmed bin Issa Al Mohannadi occurred during the regular meeting of Their Excellencies the GCC ministers and heads of civil service and administrative development agencies, convened in Muscat, Oman, on 19 September 2023. The event was graced by the presence of the GCC Assistant Secretary, H.E Khalid bin Ali Al Sunaidi, GCC ministers and heads of civil service agencies, senior officials and ministers from the Sultanate of Oman, along with ambassadors accredited to the Sultanate.
In a statement following the receipt of the GCC Medal for Civil Service and Administrative Development, H.E. Ahmed bin Issa Al-Mohannadi expressed his thanks to the Council for this generous initiative, which stands as a testament to the appreciation of the efforts of administrative leaders in the civil service sectors across the GCC countries. He further noted that acknowledging the accomplishments and contributions of the honored individuals would motivate administrative personnel at all levels to redouble their efforts, thereby improving the overall effectiveness of the government sector work mechanisms.
During his notable 38-year experience in the government sector, H.E. Ahmed bin Issa Al Mohannadi advanced through various positions, including the role of Assistant President of the General Authority of Customs, a role he held from the organization's inception until he was appointment as the President of the General Tax Authority in January 2019. The key milestones throughout his distinguished career include spearheading the establishment of the General Tax Authority, following its independence from the Ministry of Finance, as well as shaping its overarching policies and optimizing tax mechanisms in Qatar, according to the best international standards and practices.
