The General Tax Authority (GTA) joined the global observance of World Autism Awareness Day, celebrated annually on April 2, reaffirming its commitment to supporting individuals with special needs and raising community awareness.
As part of the initiative, the GTA illuminated its headquarters in blue and updated its digital platform profiles to reflect the same color as a symbol of solidarity and support for individuals with autism.
This initiative aims to highlight the importance of raising awareness, fostering social inclusion, and ensuring that individuals with autism have access to education, healthcare, and meaningful opportunities across various sectors.
The GTA’s participation aligns with Qatar’s national efforts to promote awareness, foster a culture of social inclusion, and guarantee comprehensive and sustainable care for individuals with autism and their families. Notably, Qatar played a key role in the international recognition of World Autism Awareness Day and the designation of April 2 as its official date, having proposed the initiative to the United Nations General Assembly, which formally adopted the resolution on December 18, 2007.
