The General Tax Authority has received ISO27001:2013 certifications after it successfully passed a security audit. The certifications are reflection of GTA efforts to adopt the best practices internationally, particularly in the field of securing digital transactions and monitoring cybersecurity risks.
It was also a result of GTA comprehensive cybersecurity strategy in co-operation with OISSG Consultancy. Intertek awarded the certifications to the bureau for its effort.
Commenting on the occasion, GTA president, Ahmad al-Mohannadi said that obtaining the ISO certificate came within the framework of its keen interest in information management and security systems, as the certificate is a prestigious international standard for practices in this important field.
He stressed that General Tax Authority is in the process of updating its electronic services to cover all taxpayer services, which is part of GTA digital journey.
GTA is also keen to ensure that the best international standards are applied, and that standards of security controls are adopted to protect GTA Taxpayers information.
He pointed out that the General Tax Authority has modernised the information technology infrastructure in the GTA to enable it to develop its electronic services and electronic connectivity with various government agencies and other entities to achieve the authority’s plan for digital transformation in line with Qatar Vision 2030.
Ismail al-Mansouri, assistant president (Support Services), said ISO 27001 certificate is one of the most internationally accepted information security standards providing GTA with a model for operating, implementing, monitoring and improving not only in the information security management system domain, but also includes all other GTA administrative transactions.
